Washington Sculpture Center (WSC) Basic Info
The Washington Sculpture Center (WSC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that was formed in June of 2003 to promote both sculpture classes and the placing of sculpture in the DC Metropolitan Area. The WSC is a non-accredited center open to all. The WSC offers classes in sculpture using a variety of media including glass, metal and stone. The instructors are all professional artists. How To Register
Please fill out the registration form that includes policies regarding late fees, and refunds. TOP

Location
The WSC is located at 1338 Half Street, SE, Washington, DC 20003 and is open for classes
10:00am – 10:00 pm (Monday – Friday)
10:00 am – 5:00 pm (Saturdays and Sundays)
WSC is located two blocks south of the Navy Yard Metro Station (Green Line). There is limited parking in front of our building.

School Policy
The WSC does not deny admission on the basis of race, sex, or ethnic origin. The WSC reserves the right to remove a student from any class if the instructor deems it necessary due to disruptive behavior or otherwise interfering with the learning process of the group. In such a case, no refund will be made to the student. TOP

Payment Options
Payment is requested at the time of registration. Currently only checks or money orders are accepted for payment, A student is not considered registered until all tuition and fees have been paid. There is a returned check fee of $30.00

Safety and Clothing
Safety is crucial at WSC. If you have any physical problems or injuries, please consult with your physician before registration and also inform the instructor of any physical problems or injuries at the first class. All students are required to sign a waiver form.

We recommend the use of comfortable clothing—cotton material is preferable
. For stone carving, flamework, blacksmithing and bronze casting we request you use sturdy strong and closed shoes (no sandals please).

The Washington Sculpture Center is not liable for personal injury or loss of property, including artwork belonging to students enrolled at WSC.

If a student younger than 18 years of age wishes to register for any class, a responsible parent must accompany the student to the first class to complete a waiver form. TOP

Weather and Holiday Exceptions
Classes do not meet during the following holidays: New Year's, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.


In case of inclement weather listen for cancellations in the radio and TV news (Channel 4, 5, 7, 9 etc.) TOP

Student and Faculty Show
Students and instructors will exhibit their work in at our Open House. Students are encouraged to display their work in our gallery. Instructors will also exhibit their work at the yearly show. Show dates will be advertised in our web site www.dcsculpture.org TOP

Materials and Equipment
WSC sells materials and equipment at discounted prices only to registered students. Tools and material lists are available in the description of the class on the web site. In some classes such as blacksmithing, flamework, stone carving, bronze casting tools are supplied. TOP
